types of brass

There are many types of brass ,all only having difrent percentages of zinc.
The two main types are alpha brass and alpha beta brass,
Alpha brass is used for shaping and foring, it can be used cold. It has 35% zinc in the metal wich makes it more malleable and easy to shape.
Alpha beta brass has got 45% zinc in it witch makes it harder to machine and would need to be heated to shape, although only having 10% more zinc it makes the metal quiet difrent when trying to machine , shape or bend.
All the different types of brass varies in strength , malleability , look and finish due to the percentage of zinc in the metal,
